Basic Free Phone Calling: Advice Tip #1 – Do some shopping around

This shouldn’t be that hard. Whereever you are, you should do a few things. 1) Try the phone cards that you can get at local convenience store. Maybe ask some friends if they’ve used them. Use social networking websites like facebook to see if there’s a group which discusses the topic. 2) If you haven’t used some of the free VOIP tools out there, let me know and I’ll give you some. There are a number of software tools that let you call free from computer to pc. Some of them let you call PC to Phone and vice versa. You will have to do some shopping around for those services to see which ones may be scams and which ones may be relatively good.

Free phone service company Stanaphone Shuts down – no more free outgoing phone calls

A service which About.com tells us you can “now get free outgoing calls to real phone numbers and free incoming calls to a real phone number. You may be thinking ‘who is crazy enough to be offering that kind of service free in both directions’ and that would be a wise question. The truth is that no one company is doing that — You need to be a little creative and combine services from two companies to get free calling in both directions. Read the rest of this entry »

NEW YORK – Apple Inc.’s new iPhone went on sale Friday to eager buyers worldwide, but there were problems getting the phones to work.

Wordpress appears to be on the wave of websites jumping on the iPhone bandwagon

And the bandwagon may not be a too bad place to be as the fallacy usually points out saying there is NO reason except the trend being popular.  Well, this popular trend may be lots of new or heavy traffic for Wordpress.

Wordpress CEO Matt Mullenweg or like what he likes to call himself CBBQTT (which stands for “Chief BBQ Taste Tester” for the company that produces Wordpress – Automattic.com) wrote recently: Read the rest of this entry »

Wireless carrier offers cheaper land line phone services

T-Mobile Offers New Home Phone Service

How is this for a twist: Wireless carrier T-Mobile wants to sell consumers phone service in their homes.

The company announced Wednesday that it would introduce a Internet-based phone service called T-Mobile@Home later this month which it hopes will compete with landline and voice-over-Internet offerings from the likes of AT&T, Verizon and Vonage. The service will cost $10 a month, but customers must also have a T-Mobile cellphone plan (which typically start at $29.99 a month) and broadband Internet service (which typically costs $20 to $50 a month, depending on who the provider is). Seven problems with the new 2008 iPhone

A decent article here: http://www.forbes.com/technology/2008/06/20/iphone-disappointment-features-tech-wireless08-cx_bc_0620iphone.html?feed=rss_popstories

BURLINGAME, CALIF. – Apple’s new iPhone promises to be 4.7 ounces of awesome.

It will do everything the iPhone does well–surfing the Web, serving up music and movies, and letting you flick through your voicemail messages with a fingertip–only faster and cheaper.

Yet imperfections still lurk, in spite of Chairman Steve Jobs‘ maniacal attention to detail. Even before its release, there are some niggling issues–some minor, others major–that make the iPhone a mere gadget, just like any other. Just ask those pesky bloggers: Read the rest of this entry »

Google Talk is actually a free phone service — did you know?

I didn’t.

Until a potential client told me today and mentioned that I should call them on Google Talk. So, I went ahead and downloaded the free phone software application which I thought was a chatting client. Well, guess what?

The quality was REALLY poor between here in Korea and Canada. So, I had to get my client to talk on Skype which was so much more clear! So, I’m officially giving the service a “thumbs down” for being a free phone service, BUT for FREE, it’s not bad! ;)

Sneaky Jangl, but what’s the use?

One of my readers recently told me to check out Jangl.com because it was similar to one of the other services I had posted about like Jaxtr.com or Voipwise.com. I read up on the site what the service was all about, but no where on the site could I find what countries it serves.

In some sense, I can understand why they would keep the list confidential to get you to sign up if you’re curious and if you’re just attracted to the idea that it’s free.  However, what a waste if your country isn’t served Read the rest of this entry »
