iCall Internet phone free? Not really…
Just downloaded the iCall Internet Phone for the second time. I remember the first time being a little funny. Now, I just remembered why.
I tried to dial out to a call to the United States from Korea. No luck.
I then check to see why. Even though my call should of gone through with the puny 5 or so minutes they give for free (YES, ONLY 5 MINUTES OR SO!!!), you have to basically subscribe to their $4.99 a month service to get calls free in the United States — and they’ll charge you immediately $14.97 when you do sign up.
Plus, if you want to call Internationally, you’ll have to pay the additional fees outlined here: https://secure.icall.com/account/services_rates.php For example, you would have to pay $.2350 a minute to Afghanistan One location it was over $3 dollars a minute.
Not exactly “free phone” eh…
I’ll stick to my Skype for now…
